Mundaka, situated in the Biosphere of Urdaibai, is a perfect place to practice outdoors activities like cycling, fishing, windsurfing, canoeing or diving and is surrunded by maravillous landscape.

It is only 40 minutes from Bilbao and 1 hour and 15 minutes from San Sebastian.

Mundaka, placed in a marvillous natural enviroment called Urdaibai, it is in a beautiful place where the ocean and Urdaibai estuary meet together and where you can see the lonely island of Izaro infront. All this makes Mundaka a very privilegiated town.

Also, it has been able to keep the attractiveness of a small fishing town, with its fishing port turned into a smart swimming pool during the summer and its irregular streets that create a special maze.

The main fame abound in recent years is that Mundaka is said to be one of the best places in the continent for surfing.

The parish church of Mundaka is one of the oldest of Bizkaia and because of this it was given the first seat in the "CASA DE JUNTAS OF GERNIKA". (That is why Bermeo and Mundaka have always been rivals. There is a legend that says that in old times a daughter and princess of a scottish King arrived at this coast, stayed here and brought to live in 880 the one who would be the first Sir of Bizkaia, Mister Zuria.
